Concentration includes the amount of focus one has to complete day to day tasks. Having difficulty concentrating on everyday tasks can cause frustration and can make the day even more stressful. Here are a few everyday activities that can help you boost your concentration and attention span.

Exercise

The CDC recommends that the average person should exercise 150 minutes per week. There are many benefits to exercise, including better physical, mental, and emotional health. Researchers have found that daily exercise can help improve concentration and attention.

Puzzles

Puzzles such as sudoku, crosswords, and memory games can be beneficial to both memory and attention. These puzzles exercise your brain functions, and can make a lasting effect on concentration and problem solving skills.

Sleep

Experts recommend getting between 8-10 hours of sleep each night. Sleep is important for your mental, physical, and emotional health. Proper sleep helps to maintain: A strong immune system, high energy levels, strong mental health, better concentration and memory, and a  strong and healthy body.

Meditation

Mindfulness activities such as yoga and meditation can help promote concentration, as well as help release any tension or anxieties from the day. Apps such as Headspace or Calm can be helpful tools to direct these meditation practices.

Diet

Eating a healthy diet and incorporating foods such as fish, nuts, avocados, and blueberries may improve attention and concentration. Supplements such as folate, vitamin K, and Omega-3 fatty acids have also shown to improve attention and concentration. Before beginning any supplements, discuss them with your doctor.
